VK announced the acquisition of a majority stake (51%) of the studio of medium quality Vyacheslav Dusmukhametov, creative producer of Comedy Club Production. The amount of the settlement was not disclosed. This was reported by the press service of the Internet holding.
“The agreement will allow VK to strengthen its position in the video content market through exclusive programs and joint projects that will be produced specifically for VK Video, VK Clips and other media resources of the holding company,” the statement said.
Medium Quality is releasing shows on YouTube. Among them are “Inside Lapenko”, “What Happened Next?”, Roast Battle, “I Know Myself!”, “Blitz Scream” and Big Russian Boss Show. The company also owns the video streaming platform The Hole.
Kommersant’s interlocutors believe that thanks to this deal, VK will attract a new audience, and Medium Quality will be able to continue creating content after monetization on YouTube is disabled.
