VK has released a beta version of the mobile application “VK Video”

Date: March 29, 2024 Time: 15:07:55

The beta version of the VK Video mobile application is available on Google Play and RuStore for Android users, and an iOS version will appear soon. The application offers online and offline viewing of videos from a multi-million dollar catalog: exclusive shows, videos from bloggers, broadcasts, movies, series and UGC videos.

During the beta testing period, the functionality and recommendation algorithms of the mobile application will be improved taking into account the wishes and feedback of viewers and authors of the platform. A full-scale release is scheduled for the fall of this year.

Thanks to the introduction of new technological solutions and optimization of the internal architecture of the application, viewers will receive a convenient tool for viewing video content, and authors will receive an effective direct channel to interact with the audience. A recommendation storefront, themed playlists, and advanced catalog search help viewers of all ages and interests find engaging content.

The new Trending section allows you to instantly dive into the most discussed, relevant and viral video content. Users can view their browsing history, uploaded, favorite and bookmarked videos on the app. The “VK Video” player provides a minimum delay from the first frame when viewing videos of any length. Viewers can control their viewing by double-tapping the screen to fast forward, speed up and slow down videos, and activate automatic subtitles.

Recall that over the past year, the daily active audience of the service amounted to more than 55 million users, and the average daily number of views on the VK video technology platform, which includes VK Video and VK Clips, increased by 40 % and reached 2.41 billion. More details – here.
