VKontakte is working on creating a service to recognize fakes. Its launch will take place in six months. With it, users can verify the authenticity of photos and videos. TASS writes about it.
“VKontakte is already working on technology to recognize deepfakes. Photos or videos uploaded to the platform may be reviewed for manipulations related to the face, for example, changing editors or replacing one person with another,” the social network’s press service said.
VKontakte is not the only company planning to launch such a system. By 2030, at least five services will be won. Kommersant came to that conclusion from the national system-wide software development roadmap adopted by the government in December.
It is assumed that by 2025 services will recognize at least 70% of counterfeits. Experts believe that this percentage is insufficient.
Recall that in 2023 VK will invest about 300 million rubles in Russian video game studios. This is stated in the presentation of the company “Development of the gaming industry in 2023-2024”.
