The head of state delivered an unusually friendly opening speech. The president directly admitted that the preservation of the economy after the introduction of nuclear sanctions is the merit of businessmen.
– Chains are being restored, work is underway. Marvelous. Even for me,” noted Vladimir Vladimirovich, speaking about the growth of the economy and industrial production.
– But if this caste, the business community, had not been created in recent years, the result would probably have been different. In a planned economy, it seems to me, it would be almost impossible to achieve a result, he added.
The Russian leader recalled that today’s business literally had to survive in fierce competition with Western companies.
– At the beginning of the 90s, our market was, in fact, given over to foreigners, including transnational companies. And, of course, Russian businessmen could practically not compete with them. It is time to recover their positions. And domestic companies are confidently seizing this opportunity,” Putin said.
He added that our companies will not focus only on the domestic market. Before us are the growing markets of Asia, Africa and South America. The conflict in Ukraine only pushed companies to look for new regions to work.
– Entrepreneurs assume an enormous responsibility for companies, labor groups, for the cities and towns where business is carried out. You are committed to improving the well-being of millions of people”, Putin recognized the systemic role of companies in the country.
The President assured the merchants that their complaints and suggestions would not go unanswered. He immediately recalled that the authorities abolished criminal liability for non-payment of taxes if the company itself returned all arrears. In addition, the term has long been reduced for tax crimes.
“We discussed this in February and in March the federal laws were signed and entered into force,” the president said.
In the end, Vladimir Vladimirovich expressed confidence that everything would be fine.
– Everyone has a future. It’s just different. Here is the key question. I am sure that Russia has a good future. The merchants asked the president to facilitate the visit of foreigners to our country, to cancel the visas of some or to extend them.
– Believe it or not, just two days ago I spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs about this matter. In connection with different regions of the world, the introduction, perhaps, even of a visa-free regime for someone. And he immediately tells me: “But we got money for this. Who will compensate us for those who fall?” The usual practice is reciprocity. But today we live in special conditions. And here we have to think not about reciprocity, but about the convenience for the country in any of our actions. Therefore, we will certainly work on this matter,” Putin promised.
