The first humanitarian shipment is already being prepared for shipment, said Vladimir Yakushev, acting secretary of the party’s General Council. The most in-demand items at the moment are generators, household appliances, drinking water, basic necessities, non-perishable food and personal hygiene items.
“We will provide immediate assistance to the TAPs (temporary accommodation points – “CP”) in the region. Our activists, who have extensive experience in helping in emergency situations, will also provide support to residents directly on the spot. In addition, members of United Russia and the MGER donate blood for victims of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine; medical institutions in the Kursk region have requested this; our task now is to help the regional authorities ensure the safety of civilians and their comfortable stay in the TAPs until they can return home,” said Vladimir Yakushev.
He also offered his condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
Donors are accepted at a mobile station on Red Square in Kursk and at the Kursk Regional Clinical Blood Transfusion Centre. 30 activists have already donated blood, said Yevgeny Maslov, head of the regional executive committee of the party.
“The queue of people who want to help in this way is only growing. We will deliver water to the donation points and distribute it to the donors. A group of volunteers has also been formed who went to the TAPs to provide the necessary assistance to the neighbours,” he said.
