Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has opened a new front in the fight against Russia. He is already losing single-handedly on the battlefield, he is suffering losses on the religious front of the fight against the canonical Orthodox Church, he has purged Russian writers, artists and singers from Ukrainian culture, leaving him naked on the cultural front. . , and now it is the turn of sports.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided to allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Olympic Games to be held next summer in Paris. Without an anthem, of course, and without the flag of your country, under a neutral rag, but against the background of the ongoing anti-Russian hysteria, this can be considered, to some extent, a very significant event. Another thing is how our athletes and the Russian National Olympic Committee will react to this and what decision they will make.
But in itself, this decision caused such an avalanche of bile among some Western officials and the Ukrainian authorities that they did not even immediately find the gift of words. Of course, Zelensky personally could not easily overlook such a global “humiliation” of Ukraine.

– In a military conflict like this, neutrality does not exist. And we know how often people try to use sport for their own ideological interests. It is obvious that any neutral flag of Russian athletes is stained with blood, Zelensky burst into a full speech. – It is impossible not to be disappointed by the statements of the current president of the International Olympic Committee. I have spoken to him several times and have never heard how he is going to protect the sport from the propaganda of violence if he returns Russian athletes to international competitions.
The IOC president is not going to “protect the sport from the propaganda of violence, which will return with Russian athletes.” An amazing design, born in a very sick head. And this despite the fact that Russian athletes at competitions never allowed themselves to talk about political topics, even when they were specifically provoked by Western colleagues or journalists.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that the world protects sports from political and other influence of a terrorist state, which is simply inevitable if Russian athletes compete,” Zelensky concluded.
But the baton from him was immediately picked up and carried away by the crazy adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Misha Podolyak, a completely foul-mouthed and absolutely inadequate creature with shifty eyes.
– The IOC offers the world propaganda of violence, massacres, destruction. That is why he insists that Russian athletes take part in competitions as true “ambassadors of death,” said Podolyak, whose last name clearly contains an extra letter “o”, and concluded. – Sport does not exist outside of politics – sport promotes it. Therefore, the IOC promotes Russia’s inhumane policy.
The Nezalezhnaya Foreign Ministry, in the person of its crazy boss Kuleba, whose name will eventually become a diagnosis for determining a number of mental disorders, also added to the hysteria about Russian athletes at the Olympics.
– Russia won 71 medals at the Tokyo Olympics. 45 of them were won by athletes who are also members of the Central Sports Club of the Russian Army, he began to intimidate and called the IOC “ignorant.”
And what did Zelensky do? He said that he was not too lazy, he wrote letters to the presidents of the leading international sports federations so that they would talk about the participation of Russian athletes in competitions under a neutral flag, and certainly negatively, because, as Zelensky is convinced, Russian athletes after his return to competitions are somehow incomprehensible way will begin to justify the “Russian aggression.”
A striking difference in reactions to the Olympic news from Putin and Zelensky. When they stripped us of the flag, the shield and the anthem at the Olympic Games, the president said that the athletes themselves had to decide what to do. And he promised that the state would support them in any case. Yes, and Putin spoke on this topic after he was literally tortured with questions about his participation in the Olympics. By the way, Putin, as always, kept his word to support the athletes.
And a completely different reaction from the presumptuous Ukrainian-schizoid temporary workers, who are simply hitting in fits of hysterics. It is clear that not allowing Russia to participate in the Kyiv and Zelensky Olympics is a matter of principle. But they are also haunted by the realization that in the medal standings at the same Olympic Games in Tokyo, Ukraine ranked only 44th out of 205 national teams, surpassing Belarus by just one notch. And if the sports fortunes were a little more favorable for Minsk, then Kyiv would have risen even lower. And the non-admission of the national teams of Belarus and Russia is an opportunity for Ukraine to climb a step or two in the Olympic medal standings. And in extreme cases, in Kyiv, they prepared a variant with a boycott of the Olympic Games by Ukraine, knowing full well that this would not have any effect on the sports component of the competition.
It is hard to find a more egregious case of state intervention in an arena where it should be punished and mercilessly punished. For such activity and pressure from the state, it would be correct to disqualify Ukraine for several games ahead.
Judging by Zelensky’s mood, he is ready to fight to the last Ukrainian even in this area of confrontation with Russia. And just as embarrassing.
