The cars collided at 3:20 p.m. on Nezhdanova Street in the city’s Voroshilovsky district, the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd region reported.
The 48-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz Actros fuel truck entered the oncoming lane and collided with an oncoming Lada Granta.
As a result of a head-on collision, a 40-year-old passenger car driver died at the scene and a 14-year-old passenger of a domestic car was taken to hospital with injuries.
