“We will definitely work on options to solve the problems related to increasing responsibility when driving electric scooters. They may be different,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the chairman of the State Duma, it is important for everyone to be aware of their responsibility, especially when people suffer from driving.
He drew attention to the fact that the number of such accidents has multiplied by more than 40 since 2019.
Although traffic regulations for electric scooters, unicycles, electric skateboards, gyroscopes and other means of individual mobility are already in force this year, “there is still work to be done,” says Viacheslav Volodin.
The politician recalled that different ways of solving this problem are now being considered. “Both radical, completely banning the rental of electric scooters, and more moderate, for example, limiting their speed or places of use,” he added.
