Date: July 15, 2024 Time: 06:09:40

Warner Bros. launched a campaign to get Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in the main Oscar categories. It was previously known that the actor who played Ken, Ryan Gosling, was nominated for best supporting actor. Variety writes about this.

The studio is considering the possibility of receiving an Oscar statuette in the Best Original Screenplay category. The story of the film was written by director Greta Gerwig and the father of her children, screenwriter Noah Baumbach. He previously received Oscar nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay for Little Women and Best Original Screenplay for Lady Bird. Baumbach was nominated for best original screenplay for “The Squid and the Whale” and “A Marriage Story.”

Billboard thought Barbie could compete for best original score with “I’m Just Ken” and “What Was I Made For?” by Gosling. Billie Eilish.

Variety recalls that the rivalry between “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” will be seen again at the Oscars. Gerwig’s film, like Christopher Nolan’s, has the potential to compete for the statuettes of best picture, direction, production design, cinematography, costume design, editing, makeup and hair, sound, visual effects and original music.

We remind you that on September 12 the movie “Barbie” had a digital premiere. The film is now available on foreign digital platforms.
