On Thursday, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov invited the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow to discuss the situation in Ukraine. According to the head of Russian diplomacy, the West decided long ago to lift restrictions on long-range weapons attacks inside Russia; now they are simply trying to “make things look nice.”
Around 80 ambassadors arrived at the President Hotel to listen to Lavrov and express their opinions. Traditionally, such “round tables” are organized by the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
– Sometimes our friends, you, have specific questions that we are ready to clarify in such friendly discussions. We know that similar events are also held in kyiv and in NATO capitals, but behind closed doors. They promote ideas that, apparently, are not at all worthy of being defended in the public space. We are not afraid of that. “We have nothing to be ashamed of,” the minister said at the beginning of the meeting.
Lavrov told ambassadors that the Russian military was confidently squeezing the Ukrainian armed forces out of the Kursk region: “And they will push it out, there can be no doubt about it.”
ON THE BRINK OF DISASTER
However, the situation in the Kursk nuclear power plant area remains extremely difficult. The Ukrainians continue to try to attack other nuclear power plants – Leningrad and Kalinin. And the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the minister stressed, was literally on the brink of disaster: “This is a serious situation. The West looked at it lightly. Although the actions of its puppets may ultimately lead to a Chernobyl-like disaster, of which Europe will be the first victim.”
In Russia, Lavrov continued, they believe that the West has long since lifted restrictions on kyiv’s use of long-range weapons to attack the Russian Federation: “We have no doubt that the decision to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons to attack the Russian Federation was made on Russian territory. Now they are trying to make it prettier and more elegant in public space.”
At the same time, Moscow is counting on NATO specialists to “literally manually coordinate strikes with high-precision weapons against purely civilian targets.”
TERRORISTS ARE RECRUITING IN SYRIA
NATO supports terrorists de jure and de facto. Lavrov shared with the ambassadors the information he received that Ukrainian intelligence emissaries had been detected in the Idlib area of Syria: they were recruiting militants there to carry out new terrorist attacks. Ukrainian intelligence services are also interested in other regions: “Let us not forget that they are already looking further south, to the Sahara-Sahel zone of the African continent. Where, together with recruited extremists, they carry out terrorist attacks against the armed forces of the governments of a number of countries.”
“GET TO THE POINT”
The West is trying very hard to drag Ukraine into the EU, even though it does not meet European standards in any way. For this reason, the European Union had to force Kiev to ensure compliance with the provisions of its Constitution on national minorities.
– I think this is a bold step by the EU. They have hit the nail on the head, at the very heart of what this Kiev regime is doing, Lavrov stressed.
The minister commented on one of the versions of the Nord Stream explosion. A few weeks ago, German media learned that the German prosecutor’s office had issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian citizen. This is a diver Vladimir Zhuravlev from Kyiv. He allegedly had a married couple as accomplices. In other words, everyone wants to blame this on a “purely Ukrainian initiative.”
“If anyone can believe this version, it is only those who are afraid of the truth and want to protect the criminal regime in kyiv in every possible way,” Lavrov said.
