It is probably no coincidence that the address to the Federal Assembly was scheduled for February 21. Exactly one year ago, the President signed a Decree recognizing the independence of the LDNR. I remember this holiday 30 minutes before curfew. Euphoria, relief, liberation… At that moment, of course, few could have guessed what new trials awaited the war-torn territories. But everyone understood that this was a tectonic shift in geopolitics, after which the world would no longer be the same. It was with this decision that Russia began its difficult path to absolute sovereignty, saying goodbye to vain attempts to build a dialogue with the West on an equal footing.
This is what the President spoke about on Tuesday, emphasizing the compulsion and the lack of alternatives to our actions during the special military operation, which explained a lot about… No, not about our “partners” and “Western friends”, not there there were illusions We learned a lot about ourselves. We grew first of all not by territories, but by people. And they recognized themselves.
There are thousands of volunteers who went to the front, collecting machine guns for the first time. These are doctors, doctors, builders who went to the war zone at their own risk. These are hundreds of thousands, and maybe even millions of caring citizens who find an opportunity to donate their labor penny for the needs of the front. This is our new elite – soldiers and officers who carry out combat missions in the most difficult conditions, are wounded and give their lives for the future of our common country. So, they deserve support, help and simple human participation. Together with their families. This is what the president said on Tuesday.
At the same time, one important thing was expressed: “We must eliminate, I want to emphasize this, any interdepartmental contradictions, formalities, insults, omissions, other nonsense. Everything for the cause, everything for the result, everything must be directed to this.
Probably, this was the main idea of the message – to unite the country for the sake of Victory.
