There are many questions about the timing of monthly pension payments. After the pandemic and the health crisis, Social Security has adopted to transfer the money a few days before the end of the corresponding month. These economic allowances are generated retrospectively for natural monthly periods, which implies that they are received in a similar way to the salaries of employees with a fixed salary.
The public entity in charge of carrying out pension payments, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations and is directed by José Luis Escrivá, makes the deposit between the first and the fourth day of each month. .
When does Unicaja Banco pay the pensions this June?
The different banking entities usually pay the pension during the last week of each month. This June, Unicaja Banco will pay the pension on Monday, June 26.
Banks usually pay the pension between the 23rd and 25th of each month, although if these dates coincide with weekend fines or holidays, as is the case with this month of June, it is the responsibility of the banks to decide whether to advance the payment the previous business day or postpone it to the next business day.
Summer extra pay increase
The increase approved by the Government of Spain of 8.5% and 15% in contributory and non-contributory pensions from January 1, 2023 will also be reflected in the extraordinary summer pay.
In this way, the extra payments will be equivalent to the amount received in any month, which means that the money spent will double. For example, the beneficiaries of an average pension of 1,367 euros will receive a payment of 2,734 euros. Meanwhile, those who receive the maximum pension of 3,059 gross euros per month will get a total of 6,118 euros.
On the contrary, those who have had their pension amount suspended or have not combined a full semester, that is, from December to May, will receive a proportional amount: one sixth for each month received. For example, if you receive a pension of 1,500 euros for three months, you get an additional 750 euros, which is equivalent to a total of 2,250 euros.
