Unemployment has risen again in this month of February and the figures set off the alarms of the economic slowdown. This second month of the year breaks with the positive trend of recent years and adds 2,618 unemployed, after the resounding rise in the month of January, while the destruction of work is focused on the agricultural sector. On the contrary, others such as services (-0.19%), Industry (-1.02%) and construction (-1.07%) have experienced an improvement in the last month, despite the rise in prices in which energy has once again been the protagonist.
Specifically, a total of 2,911,015 citizens were unemployed as of February 28, 2023, despite the fact that it is usually a positive month. Minister Yolanda Díaz has admitted that this result is negative, but she has been prudent when predicting a bad evolution in the coming months, as she revealed in an interview on the SER network.
People who are currently unemployed will be able to receive the corresponding unemployment aid managed by the Public State Employment Service (SEPE). The main thing that the unemployed should know is that this contributory benefit will see its amount increased this year, according to the rise in the IPREM by 3.6%, which goes from 579 to 600 euros.
When do CaixaBank and other banks pay the unemployment benefit?
It should be remembered that since the change that was made in May of last year, all the beneficiaries of the unemployment subsidy began to collect it on a different date. Until now and as a consequence of the pandemic, the Government agreed on a measure to advance the collection of certain aid and benefits. However, this advantage will end in May, as announced by the State Public Employment Service.
From the 10th to the 15th of each month, the beneficiaries may receive the corresponding amount. As on this occasion the first day coincides with Friday, it is possible that some entities choose to pay it on the previous days.
