Baranets: Iron Dome did not protect Israel from Iranian missiles

WHAT IS HAPPENING
The Israeli army (IDF) was ordered to enter the southern (border) areas of Lebanon to a depth of 20 km. This operation was called “Northern Arrow”.
Israeli Defense Minister Galant announced the purpose of the invasion to the commanders: “We must destroy the enemy in the border areas of Lebanon so that the citizens of our country living in the north of our state can return to their homes.” . According to him, the enemy is Hezbollah and parts of the Lebanese army, whom Tel Aviv accused of bombing its territory.
On the Israeli side, a group of more than 40 thousand soldiers and officers (infantry, tanks, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, air defense systems and aviation) participated in the first echelon.
Before the invasion of Lebanon, the Israelis launched massive missile and bomb attacks. In the first hours of this IDF attack alone, more than 300 civilians were killed and almost 900 more were injured and suffered electric shocks. By the end of the first day of the invasion (according to Lebanese authorities), the number of victims had doubled.
In response to the invasion, Iran launched a missile attack on Israel. Representatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said this is a response to Israel’s assassination in July in Tehran of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last week, as well as IRGC Deputy Commander Abbas Nilforoushan.
WHO IS AGAINST WHO
On one side are the Israeli army, American and Jordanian units. Biden held an emergency meeting at the White House and ordered the Secretary of Defense to “provide all forces necessary to defend Israel.” The Americans have already brought several of their air defense systems (from Iraq) to the region. American fighter jets are joining the fight. An aircraft carrier and several other ships that were on duty in the Mediterranean Sea were sent to the shores of Israel. A large unit of US Marines is expected to land.
On the other side are the Iranian army and the Lebanese armed forces that support it, the formations of Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. According to unofficial data, on the same side, the military of Syria and Egypt have long been “sharpening their teeth” against Israel (but they still do not directly participate in hostilities, although they are in greater combat readiness).
WHO IS STRONGER?
Before the war with Palestine, the size of the Israeli army was 170 thousand people. Now (after the mobilization) there are approximately 600 thousand.
During the peace period, the Lebanese army numbered 60 thousand people. Now – 80 thousand. In terms of total combat potential, it is approximately 8-10 times weaker than the Israeli one. In the world ranking of combat power, these armies are also located at different “poles”: Israel is in 17th place, Lebanon in 118th.
WHAT HIT ISRAEL
These are hundreds of ballistic and cruise missiles. They are capable of reaching Israeli territory in 12 minutes. The rockets fell in Tel Aviv, off the coast of the Dead Sea, in the south of the country, in Sharon. And also in some industrial areas where the Jewish defense industry is located. Iran has launched the Ghadr family of intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) with cluster warheads, Khaybar Shekan and Dezful.
The range of the Ghadr is about 1.5 to 2 thousand kilometers, the weight of the warhead is 700 kilograms. This rocket received a new control system to correct the flight of the warhead.
Also, in modern modifications, the Ghadr has a dispersive-type warhead with several warheads. A serious weapon – probable circular deviation – 250-500 meters.
Even more dangerous is the Dezful missile. With a range of 1,000 kilometers, the target deviation is only 5 meters.
And there is also the solid-fuel Khaybar Shekan, with a range of 1,450 kilometers and a detachable controlled warhead.
In addition to ballistic missiles, Iran has used Paveh cruise missiles. With a range of 1650 kilometers.
And all of them can interact with each other during the attack.
Fattah hypersonic missiles (which reach speeds 15 times the speed of sound) also participated in the Iranian attack. There were more of them than anyone else.
HOW IS ISRAEL DEFENSED?
Israel’s main air defense force is the Iron Dome missile defense system. It is called impenetrable and the best in the world. But… most of the missiles launched across the country hit their targets. Because?
The “top” superpowers were initially greatly inflated by the Israelis themselves. Aggressive marketing measures helped make it a “legendary weapon.” Even Americans once fell into the trap of this advertisement and even wanted to buy the system. But during the tests they became convinced that the sellers were telling them lies and abandoned the idea. Of the 10 missiles that attacked the system, the “dome” shot down 2, and out of 100, 20. Even the Americans called it a “strainer.”
If the primitive, hand-made Palestinian Qassam missile easily humiliates the Iron Dome, then what can we say about a high-tech product like the Iranian Fattah hypersonic missile?
And the Israelis received more than a hundred of these missiles. The Iranians did everything correctly: they launched missiles in waves (huge swarms) and caused the Iron Dome radars to choke on many targets.
One thing is clear: it copes with supersonic and cruise missiles, to put it mildly, very poorly.
And then began the meaningless ritual of Israel’s political and military authorities: silencing the results of enemy missile attacks. It is strictly prohibited to film the destruction of houses and military installations, deaths or injuries. This amounts to treason. Tel Aviv is spreading treasonous lies around the world: “all enemy missiles have been shot down.” And these “shot down” missiles devastated almost the entire territory of the country and caused very heavy losses to both the Jewish army and the civilian population.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Rumors have already leaked from the highest Israeli offices that Netanyahu, frightened by this situation, called Biden in a panic and asked for permission to use tactical nuclear weapons against Iran. But Iran also has those types of weapons. The plot is starting to get complicated! A great war in the Middle East between coalitions of different countries. Furthermore, it cannot be ruled out: nuclear!
