“145 winners of the VIII All-Russian Competition and 50 winners of the II Competition for the Far Eastern regions have been determined. All these projects will be implemented in 2024 and 2025,” said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who headed the Federal Competition Commission.
The applications received for the VIII All-Russian Competition of the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment and the II similar Competition for the Far Eastern regions were selected by experts in the field of architecture, urban planning, economics, sociology of cultural heritage protection and archaeology. The quality of architectural and planning solutions, the preservation of the historical, cultural and natural environment, the use of environmentally friendly materials were taken into account.
During the existence of the contests, 1027 objects were selected: 421 parks, 206 embankments, 148 squares, 252 streets and pedestrian zones, said the Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation Irek Fayzullin.
“The urban environment is not just comfort and convenience, it is new jobs and centers of urban life. In recent years, we have come a long way from simple improvement to complex urban development projects. Thanks to our joint work, more than 16,000 jobs have been created and more than 4,000 objects of commercial and business activity have appeared in the settlements.”
The competition involves cities with a population of up to 200 thousand people, as well as historical settlements of federal and regional importance. Small towns with a population of up to 250 thousand people, as well as urban and rural settlements that do not have the status of cities, with a population of more than 5 thousand people, participate in the competition for the Far Eastern regions.
