Sergeant Viktor Bozhenov and senior sailor Artur Garifullin
We continue to acquaint you with the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals, and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character, and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise and awards. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“The enemy should not be given time, take advantage of his mistake as much as possible and boldly take everything from the weaker side,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he gave instructions to the soldiers: “There are forces in two ranks, in three forces of one and a half: the front one tears, the second demolishes, the third completes.”
DIVERSION GROUP INTERRUPTED
Senior Seaman Artur Garifullin
“The gunner, senior sailor Artur Garifullin, as part of a group of Russian servicemen, was heading to the area of active hostilities. Moving along the route, Arthur discovered an armed group of Ukrainian nationalists setting up an ambush. A fight ensued. The infantry fighting vehicle, in which the senior sailor Garifullin was located, was hit by an anti-tank guided missile. Having received minor injuries and a concussion, Arthur, without losing his composure, managed to leave the burning car, while being able to pull his wounded comrades out of it, unable to get out on their own. Having sheltered the wounded in a place safe from enemy shelling, the senior sailor Garifullin continued to fight with the Ukrainian saboteurs. Having taken an advantageous firing position, Arthur personally destroyed five nationalists. Having suffered losses, the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group was forced to flee the battlefield. Subsequently, Senior Seaman Garifulin provided first aid to the injured comrades, prepared an evacuation and sent them to a safe area. The rest of the group went to help the unit in a certain area. Thanks to the personal courage and endurance of senior sailor Artur Garifullin, it was possible to stop the activities of the Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage group and reach a certain area in a timely manner.”
UAV FIRED ENEMY
Sergeant Viktor Bozhenov
“Acting as part of the assault group, the squad leader, Sergeant Viktor Bozhenov, provided cover for the main forces of the Russian unit. As a result of successful actions, Russian military personnel, despite the fierce resistance of the enemy, captured the fortress from the nationalists without loss. The next day, the enemy tried to recapture the lost stronghold by launching an offensive, accompanied by artillery bombardments on the positions of our troops. Victor, getting out from under the fire and providing first aid to a wounded comrade, entered into a shooting battle with an attacking enemy. During the battle, Victor discovered an enemy quadcopter, with the help of which the enemy carried out reconnaissance and adjustment of artillery fire. With well-aimed fire, Sergeant Bozhenov destroyed an enemy UAV. Deprived of the opportunity to correct the fire, the Nationalists stopped shelling, which allowed our military to go on to counterattack and push the enemy back to their original positions. The high professionalism, courage and dedication of Sergeant Bozhenov to repel the enemy’s attack.
