“Without this wonderful actress, it is impossible to imagine the domestic cinema and theater. Her creative works have entered the treasury of our art, loved by millions of people of various generations,” Medvedev’s telegram reads, quoted by TASS.
The politician noted that the People’s Artist of the USSR mastered all genres and styles, organically feeling himself in any role.
“Each of Inna Mikhailovna’s heroines is worthy of admiration, through whose mouth she went straight to the hearts of the audience. Her free improvisations, where great tragedy surprisingly coexisted with the element of comedy, formed the basis of many Lenkom’s films and performances ”, added Medvedev, openly calling Churikova a charming, sincere person, endlessly devoted to her work and vocation.
“We will always keep a good memory of her. Please convey the words of sympathy and support to your colleagues, family, friends, everyone who knew and loved the outstanding actress,” Medvedev concluded.
Churikova died on January 14 of cardiac arrest. She will be buried Tuesday at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent his condolences to Churikova’s family and friends.
