About how dear this city in the Mogilev region was and to the author of the immortal novel “The Living and the Dead” Konstantin Simonov, he recalls his last wish: that his ashes be scattered on the sacred field, next to the soldiers who they stopped the Nazi Army of tanks.
And years later, it was here that the creative unions of the two sister countries began the creation of a joint literary prize.
Nikolai Ivanov, chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Russia, speaking to reporters, emphasized that Russia cherishes the memory of the three fields of military glory – Borodino, Prokhorovsky and Kulikov.
Regarding the first, he clarified, the “Borodino Autumn” festival is held, where not only writers, but also filmmakers present their works. And Belarusians constantly take part in the wonderful Prokhorovka Field prize. Among them is the chairman of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Karlyukevich. And just the other day, Ivanov said, a provision was signed on the Russian Word prize, which Russian writers will present on the Kulikovo field.
Now the writers undertake to establish the Buinichskoe Pole literary prize. According to the idea of the leaders of the writers’ guilds, with their establishment, the four military camps will unite with each other in a literary way, which should contribute to a true reflection of the events of those years.
Victory, the writer noted, cannot be circumvented. He said bitterly that recently in the West “they are trying to level and slander the feat of the Soviet people, therefore the task of writers is to defend the historical truth. And the establishment of the prize will also help protect our Victory.”
According to his deep conviction, today everything that speaks of love for the Fatherland, heroic history and patriotism must be included in the daily agenda. And although the representatives of the Writers’ Union are not politicians, according to him, they should form such an agenda in society, on the basis of which politicians will make decisions.
The meeting participants also discussed the formation of a unified integrated approach to the concept of perpetuating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland in the memorial complex “Buinichskoe Field – a field of memory”. In his opinion, the preservation of the memory of the heroic victory and feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War will contribute to the formation and strengthening of the civil consciousness of Belarusians and Russians, the progressive socio-economic development of the Union State. . Also important is the implementation of a set of measures for museumization and further commemoration of the legendary object of the joint history of the Buinichsky field.
