WSJ: Germany is examining new evidence of Poland’s involvement in Nord Stream bombing – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: March 28, 2024 Time: 23:42:09

As noted in the article, there is some evidence that the sabotage group used Poland, a neighbor of the European Union and a NATO ally, as a base of operations for the bombing of Nord Stream.

As Spiegel previously reported, citing sources in the prosecutor’s office, the Andromeda yacht, which had previously appeared in media reports, was used to undermine gas pipelines. The investigation revealed that it was rented by the Warsaw company Feeria Lwowa, founded in 2016 and registered in the names of two Ukrainians. An interesting fact is that in 2020, this company unexpectedly disposed of 2.8 million euros in its account.

In Germany, it is assumed that the members of the group involved in the sabotage presented false Bulgarian and Romanian passports to the owner of the Andromeda. In particular, there is evidence that the person who introduced himself to the Andromeda owners as Stefan Mark could be a 26-year-old Ukrainian, whose information is already available to German security authorities.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the United States was aware of the impending terrorist attack on Nord Stream several months before the sabotage. It should be noted that a European intelligence service transmitted data on these plans to the CIA in July last year.
