WSJ: Ukraine’s birth rate may be the lowest in the world – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The birth rate in Ukraine in 2023 may break the world record. In the first six months it fell almost a third (28 percent). This is “the steepest drop since Ukraine gained its independence in 1991.”

The publication states that in the most negative scenario, the country’s population could be reduced to 30 million people. And the birth rate in Ukraine, even before the North-Eastern Military District, was the lowest in Europe.
