A new film by Yuri Bykov, which the director has been working on for more than two years, will be presented this year at the Berlin Film Festival. This was reported in a community dedicated to Bykov’s work. Timur Aliyev told more about the fate of the “Master” in Berlin on his telegram channel “Commander of the Cinema Fortress”.

According to Aliyev, Yuri Bykov’s film will be presented at the EFM (European Film Market) film market, during which the owners of the rental rights will be determined. The “Proprietary” project is international, Russia, France, Switzerland, Great Britain and Mexico participated in the production.

In the new film, Bykov continues to explore the relationship between man and the system, placing his characters in a position of oppression in relation to other forces. The plot of the director’s drama is based on the fact that the Menshov family witnesses a terrible accident and saves the victim. This victim turns out to be a highly influential security officer named Rodin.

The head of the family befriends him, and at first it seems to be a pretty win-win deal. The man couldn’t even imagine what a nightmare a new friend could turn his family’s life into. Starring Artem Bystrov, Oleg Fomin and Claudia Korshunova.

Let’s remember that the head of the jury of the main competition of the Berlin festival in 2023 is Kristen Stewart. The screening of the film will take place from February 16 to 26, and the Theater on Potsdamer Platz will once again be its main stage.
