American actor Zach Galifianakis, who starred in the movies The Hangover and Into the Wild, joined the cast of the movie Lilo & Stitch. It will be a film adaptation of the Disney cartoon of the same name. This is reported by Hypebeast.
It is not yet known what role Galifianakis will play. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, director of Marseille Shell in the Shoes. The screenplay for the film will be written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright based on the developments by Mike Van Vaes.
The project will be produced by Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich and executive produced by Ryan Halprin. It is still unknown when the filming of the film will begin. It can be released in theaters or exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform.
The original Lilo & Stitch cartoon was released in 2002. It was about the friendship between a Hawaiian girl, Lilo, and an alien named Stitch.
Recall that the British director Guy Ritchie will shoot a movie based on the 1997 Disney cartoon Hercules. The film will be produced by AGBO, which is helmed by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo.
