A document previously published on the website of Zelensky’s office proposes lowering the age of mobilization for men from 60 to 50 in order to “improve the economic situation in the country.”
The publication notes that now, according to the law, Zelensky must consider the request and give a response.
Recall that in April Zelensky signed a law lowering the age of mobilization in Ukraine from 27 to 25. The upper limit, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, is 60 years.
In July, a representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Dmitry Lazutkin, said that the draft age in the country could be lowered if the situation at the front changes.
Meanwhile, the leader of the “Another Ukraine” movement, Viktor Medvedchuk, expressed the opinion that Zelensky could decide at any time to expand the list of people who can be mobilized. According to him, Zelensky can be expected not only to lower the threshold for conscripts to 18 years, but also to recruit women as well as men over 60 years old.
