Zhanna Tugai was born on April 4, 1937 in Shpol, Kyiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv Theater Institute. In the late 1950s, he worked at the Lviv Youth Theater (now the First Ukrainian Theater for Children and Youth). He later served in the Lvov Russian Drama Theater of the Soviet Army of the Carpathian Military District (now the Lvov Academic Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka).
Among the theatrical works: “Wedding in Malinovka”, “The Power of Darkness” by Tolstoy, “Three Sisters” by Chekhov; “Player” Dostoevsky. She made her screen debut in 1978.
