It’s been a long time since the release of the second part of Final Season Attack on Titan, so it’s no surprise that the series has shared an official recap so you can find yourself in the story before the premiere of what’s to come, now yes, the anime’s ending.
The Attack on Titan website posted a 25-minute overview from the start of the series to when the anime ended last year. The video sums up the highlights of the series well so you’ll be all set for the premiere of last season’s part 3. You can also watch it on YouTube so you’re all set before March 4th when the special episode airs, bringing us one step closer to the grand finale.
Unlike previous parts of the final season of Attack on Titan, the third will not air weekly. Instead, it will have an extended format that will be transmitted in one go, but yes, it will be split in two. It has not yet been announced when the second half will be released, but Hajime Isayama wholeheartedly assures that it will be released this year to close the anime once and for all. And that’s not the only thing the mangaka knows for sure about his work.
Isayama has also repeatedly stated that Attack on Titan will not have a direct sequel, as the end of the story represents the final closure of the franchise. The truth is that the contentious ending hasn’t stopped it from unleashing controversy online from time to time, and may not stop anything anytime soon.
