We are already in the middle of 2023, which means that Oricon has a new list of the best selling manga series in Japan for the current year, and to our surprise, we see Blue Lock and Chainsaw Man leading the way with the most copies sold.
Taking into account the ranking of the previous year, the new list provided by Oricon covers the period from November 21, 2022 to May 21, 2023. During these six months we have the manga by Muneki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura; Blue Lock tops the list with an impressive 8,046,032 copies sold. Right after that, we find a story written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The Chainsaw Man is in second place with 4,492,906 copies sold.
Of course, the list also includes other series from various publishers in Japan, so here you have the top 10 best selling manga series in 2023.
We have some surprises in store, such as the reappearance of Slam Dunk thanks to the premiere of his movie and the debut in 9th place on the Oshi no Ko list by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. Keep in mind that this list only covers the first half of 2023, so a new ranking will be published in mid-November, but this time with the best-selling manga series of 2023 in Japan.
