One of the most beloved works by all is “Dragon Ball”, the main character of which has captivated more than one, right, Goku, who since childhood has always fought and proved that he can be the strongest or in any case surpass himself, but firstly, it seems that his design will be completely different.
According to Kanzenshuu, an interview was released that was conducted with Akira Toriyama around 1993, in which he talks about the changes in Goku’s design and how it was developed over time until it reached what is known today.
Everything points to Toriyama intending to make a very flat character, meaning he would not have elements that would make him memorable enough. I also had no idea to give him certain characteristics that main characters usually have or that they used to establish.

One of the first changes was the hair or adding a tail, as these ideas were not in his head when he first created Dragon Ball. I also did not intend for this character to be an alien belonging to the Saiyan race.
For Akira Toriyama, there was no way to plan a long-term story, so beings from another planet were not part of his ideals, not even making the same character grow, but it was a great success that he decided to tell more about him and everything that surrounds him.
It is certainly a good way to remember the ideas the author had about Dragon Ball, a story that will leave a mark on both readers and other authors inspired by it.
