It’s scheduled to premiere next Sunday, January 7th via Crunchyroll, but as the big day arrives to enjoy this new animated production, we can enjoy some images of what will be the first episode.
In these incredible images shared by @Nakayasee on Twitter, we can see the long-awaited appearance of 2B already in anime format, who will obviously be the main character of this series, as well as the appearance of 9S, who, as some of you already know, is one of the main characters of the famous RPG.
Also of note is the really lovely and cool looking animation by Jun Nakai, known for his work on shows like Silver Spoon, Ouran High School Host Club and several Digimon movies.
Ryoji Masuyama, director, writer and storyboarder for Episode 1 of NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a., has been recognized for his directing work on the Studio Ghibli film Arrietty and the World of the Tiny, as well as his participation in the Evangelion animation team: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time.
