In the nearly 25 years of One Piece’s existence, Nami has been known as the navigator and cartographer of the Straw Hat Pirates. Could you serve in another position in your crew? A few months ago, Eiichiro Oda’s epic illustration turned our favorite red-haired girl into a powerful swordsman.
But the author of One Piece didn’t just imagine this waifu as any girl capable of handling a sword. In the illustration you can see below, we can see that Nami has become a Santoryu user, the same style that Zoro uses when he fights using three swords at the same time.
Nami’s style is in stark contrast to her normal role as a navigator, and we should note that Oda himself gave Nami three different swords, not the ones used by the head of Moss (Marimo). It is true that Oda-san envisioned Nami as a warrior in his first drafts, but there is no doubt that this is a unique facet that we can find in the Straw Hat Navigator.
Did you already know this illustration of Nami from One Piece as a swordsman? To date, there are 1046 episodes of anime mugi that you can watch on Crunchyroll, with a new episode coming out every weekend.
