Naruto was another one of the series celebrating an important anniversary this year, which was full of surprises for blond ninja fans, as well as a big tribute to this great work by Masashi Kishimoto, who, to continue the celebration, redesigned the 43rd cover of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine released in 1999.
That’s right, this year Naruto celebrated the 20th anniversary of the launch of one of the most incredible and important shonen series. Therefore, many announcements and surprises arose around this franchise, for example, the announcement of the anime adaptation of Sasuke Retsuden. But now we find something pretty cool because it’s an amazing piece of art by the creator of the shinobi world, celebrating the time the first chapter of this great work was released.
In @SAIKYO_JUMP’s Twitter post, we can see both covers, both the 1999 original on the right and Masashi Kishimoto’s redesign on the left, which will be released via Saikyo Jump next Wednesday, April 4th. January 2023. This will clearly be Naruto’s anniversary release, which will continue the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration.
Undoubtedly, this edition will be sought after by collectors and other Naruto fans, as it accurately reveals this huge change in design that the protagonist has undergone from the first chapter to his latest releases, thus being a comparison of the evolution of the art signature from Kishimoto.
But in any case, let’s remember that such magazines are sold only in Japan, and getting them in the West is as difficult as it may be expensive. So let’s just enjoy these images that will make us think about the couple of decades that have passed since we first saw Naruto Uzumaki.
