The Despicable Me franchise already has six major cartoons, and the seventh (Minions 3) is already in the works. Each part grosses incredible box office, but there are complaints about the quality. Only the first two parts were definitely good, and the rest were funny short stories with a couple of cool scenes. “Despicable Me 4” works according to the same formula: there are many boring moments, but thanks to the best ones, the cartoon is not embarrassing to watch.

Minions vs cockroaches
Gru put an end to villainy in the second part and is now catching notorious scoundrels. In the introduction, he is used to stop the terrible Maxime Le Mal, who controls cockroaches and turns himself into an insect. Unfortunately, Maxim quickly escapes from prison and plans a terrible revenge. That’s why the agents move Gru and his family to a new home, give them new identities and tell them to keep a low profile. But the heroes, of course, can’t just sit still.

The plot of the cartoon is simple, devoid of a touching moral and based on sketches that rarely affect anything. The main problem is that most of the sketches are okay. They don’t irritate, but they don’t excite either.
Here’s fucking Lucy running around an angry socialite’s shop. Here we see little Edith knocking out an obese karate master. But Gru pretends to be a skilled tennis player, even though he’s never held a racket in his hands before. Sometimes these scenes make you smile a little, but most of the time you sit there with a straight face. This also applies to the children, who laugh and groan less often than during the Inside Out 2 sessions.
Minions are still fun

Sometimes, children generally find it unpleasant to watch Despicable Me 4. They are easy to understand, because the main villain’s army consists of cockroaches. The artists put funny helmets on them and posted simple posters, but this did not make the insects adorable. There are still disgusting creatures on the screen that no one wants to look at.
Why doesn’t Maxim’s army consist of squirrels, hamsters, or at least grasshoppers? Who decided that showing hordes of cockroaches in a children’s cartoon was a great idea? Incredibly strange stage move.

You can see it for the minions and Poppy.
The only innovation worth praising is Poppy. She’s a young villain who discovered the secret of Gru’s identity and is now manipulating him. Everything about Poppy is good: a sly smile, an interesting character, and most importantly, a love of dancing. Her performance in Through the Fire and Flames lasts about 10 seconds and still becomes the best moment of the cartoon. The dance has great meme potential: when Despicable Me 4 comes out digitally, get ready for an avalanche of Poppy videos.
Another reason to check out the new product is the good old minions. This time they will be transformed into a Marvel-inspired superhero team. Among the oddballs, there are analogues of Cyclops, Mister Fantastic and even Doctor Strange. Naturally, the minions use their powers in comical ways: for example, they stop a train, like Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2, only with a less rosy result.
The best moment in a cartoon.

‘Despicable Me 4’: Is it worth watching?
It’s not a shame to see a new movie, but it’s not a shame to miss it either. It has too many drawbacks: a stupid plot, a strange villain, acceptable jokes. And the best moments have almost nothing to do with the main plot, so why not wait for them to appear on the Internet?
Despicable Me 4 Rating: 6 out of 10
Appreciated
The Minions are still fun. Poppy is a star.
I dont like him
The plot is as simple as a stick. The villain is ugly. Lots of acceptable jokes.
