Former Vityaz forward, Canadian John Mirasti, spoke about his time in the Russian club.
The American hockey player said that the club offered him money to beat Metallurg forward Sergei Fedorov in the 2011/2012 season.
“When we played the preseason we were in Magnitogorsk. Sergei Fedorov entered there. And I remember that the coach wanted to pay me to beat him. I said, “No, no way!” He was one of my favorite players as a kid. Number 91 of the Detroit Red Wings. So I was like, ‘No, I’m not doing it,'” Mirasty said on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast.
Let’s add that the American spent only one season in Vityaz. Mirasti received 197 penalty minutes in 30 games.
