Alexey Shved’s former club may lose one of its leaders.

As soon as the new NBA season began, news about the league excited the entire basketball community. According to CNN, the New York police have arrested one of the most talented American athletes of our time, Kevin Porter Jr.

The 30th pick of the 2019 draft, at 20 years old, broke LeBron’s seemingly eternal record: he became the youngest basketball player to score 50 or more points in a game along with a dozen assists. He did it at age 20, three years before the legendary James. Now the young man from the Houston Rockets will have to defend his honor in court, and it is not the first time he has done so.

The incident occurred in a hotel in New York. At approximately 6:45 a.m., local police received a call describing what happened. According to employees, the basketball player… hit his beloved.

Porter returned to the apartment in the morning and the athlete’s girlfriend was not happy with this situation. With the help of hotel staff, the basketball player managed to enter the room, where the conflict had already broken out. An angry Kevin attacked her beloved: he hit her several times with all his strength and then began to strangle her.

By the way, Porter’s girlfriend is Kaiza Gondrezick, 26, who plays in the women’s NBA. During her career, she played for clubs such as Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, but is currently in free agent status.

Porter is now detained in a New York prison and the league’s reaction was immediate: NBA representative Mike Bass said that the management is aware of what happened and is currently in contact with the heads of the Houston Rockets. The organization is investigating the incident, until it is completed the club cannot apply sanctions against the basketball player, but it is already obvious that the story will not pass without a trace for Kevin.

“We are in the process of gathering information regarding the case involving Kevin Porter Jr. At this time we have no further comments,” the team’s press service said.

The gloomy future of the basketball player was predicted by the famous basketball journalist Vladimir Gomelsky. In his opinion, Porter’s outburst could affect the entire team:

“He is undoubtedly a talented basketball player, but his actions have nothing to do with basketball. This story will definitely weaken the Houston Rockets greatly. They won’t find a striker like that in the coming weeks before the start of the season. Look where they placed last year. We can conclude that without Porter they will not reach the top. Until the trial he can be free, pay bail, the fees allow it, and this is the United States, it will depend on the type of lawyers he has. After he serves his sentence, I think there will be no fools in our championship who want to sign him, ”Gomelsky said in an interview with” Soviet Sport “.

Kevin Porter Jr. has repeatedly become the protagonist of scandalous stories. The athlete had frequent fights with the team management: several years ago he quarreled with the general director of the team over the withdrawal of his personal locker. In January 2022, the player was completely disqualified from a match for “inappropriate behavior” during a match break.

And in 2020, the athlete could end up behind bars. While playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the player suffered an accident. During a search, a loaded gun and marijuana were found in Porter’s car, after which Kevin was taken into custody. Then the basketball player managed to prove that the prohibited things were not his. But will he now be able to prove his innocence? Very good question. It seems that no one is going to forgive him for the “last honest time.”
