Alania Vladikavkaz players may abandon the task of returning to the Russian Premier League, reports Metaratings.
According to the source, the issue was discussed at a team meeting with the participation of the owner of the club, Vladimir Guriev. The construction of a stadium in Vladikavkaz was also discussed.
The protracted repair of the local stadium last season became an obstacle to the granting of licenses to Alania. The stadium was supposed to be ready next year, but for the moment construction work in Vladikavkaz is suspended. If funds for construction are not found in the near future, Alania will remove the task of entering the RPL. Currently, the team plays home games in Grozny, at the Akhmat Arena.
This season, the first league “Alania” occupies the first place in the standings with 16 points after seven rounds.
