Explaining the success of BattleBit Remastered, the best game of June on Steam for PC

Date: June 18, 2024 Time: 11:38:48

Steam hits are unpredictable. At the top you expect to see blockbusters in the spirit of Elden Ring or Hogwarts Legacy, but the presence of BattleBit Remastered on the greatest hits list surprises, however, only at first. The more you study a new product, the easier it will be to explain its success.

The video is available on the BIG Bodsta YouTube channel. The rights of the video belong to SgtOkiDoki.

BattleBit is the right battlefield

No matter how hard different developers try, they fail to repeat the DICE concept. Even the large-scale modes of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the developers of which certainly have enough experience and money, look like one-day nonsense against the background of the battlefield of the battlefield.

The problem is that in recent years “Battle” has lost all confidence: each new part, then another scandal and bewilderment of fans. What is Battlefield 5, what is Battlefield 2042. Of course, in the updates, the developers fixed a lot of problems, but even so, gamers are still wary of the series.

Fans of the genre have been waiting a long time for a new game with huge arenas, vehicles, destructibles, capture points, and fun gunfights.

Meet BattleBit Remastered.

The secret is that the developers were inspired by the best of Battlefield. The maps are quite large, but they’re not just endless flat fields. There is where to run, and everywhere is fun. The transport is not made of cardboard, but skilled players will quickly break it. There are many classes, and each one is unconditionally useful. But in the last “Battle” there are problems with each of these points.

At the same time, the developers made the largest cuts. Whereas in Battlefield 2042 only 128 players are recruited on the track (although the modes have already been reduced to 64 people), 254 “soldiers” enter the server in BattleBit Remastered! If you don’t want to constantly dodge bullets and run away from projectiles, there is also a mode with the usual 128 players. In any case, the armies will gather quickly and the gameplay will be comfortable.

The war is in full swing.

For the rest, we have the usual “Battle” with standard mechanics. Drive a tank, launch sniper headshots, capture checkpoints, wait for a doctor after death. Few new features, but everything works perfectly!

Lots of great ideas here

BattleBit Remastered stands out with a couple of creative ideas that make combat feel realistic. Take at least the wounds – after being hit, blood begins to flow from the hero; to stop it, use a bandage. At the same time, the rag will not restore health, so go to the doctor as soon as possible.

The doctors are extremely helpful. In Battlefield, the class was suited for desperate players who were constantly getting shot at while trying to revive a fighter. And in BattleBit, a poor wounded man can be grabbed by the scruff, quickly dragged to a shelter and healed there (this, by the way, was promised in Battlefield 5, they never did).

The game has many different vehicles.

You also need to shoot smart. For example, hitting the head does not guarantee victory. If the bullet hits the hull, the enemy will not fall. But a shot to the face leaves no chance.

Interestingly, all of these mechanics were implemented by a team of three, assisted by a handful of freelancers and volunteers. Recently, even hundreds of developers cannot cope with such tasks.

fantastic destructibility

After Battlefield: Bad Company 2, destructibility in Battlefield went downhill: players were increasingly limited and didn’t give anything meaningful in return. Yes, in BF4 it was possible to “place” a skyscraper, only these were all dashes – the building always fell the same way. In BF2042, the situation did not improve.

All the walls and fences are quickly broken into pieces.

But in BattleBit Remastered, fantastic destructibility. Sit in a tank, knock over any building, and it will quickly demolish it to the ground. This is not only spectacular, but also useful for tactics. Thanks to the destruction, players kick out the campers, go to the back through a hole in the wall, and perform cool stunts. Of course, there are invulnerable objects on the map, but they are few.

The game has a lot of content.

BattleBit Remastered is now in Early Access. Usually this status suggests a modest amount of content, but here everything is different. Now the game has eight modes, 44 types of weapons with a lot of body kits and already 18 maps. In turn, the locations have day and night versions.

Then they promise more content.

And don’t think the cards are alike. BattleBit has deserts, dense forests, snowy mountains, built-up cities, and more. While you explore all the locations, get used to the weapons, level up and try all the modes, tens of hours will pass.

The shooter is on weak PCs

The novelty is nice and stylish, but it’s still a primitive visual. But for gamers with old computers, this is more of a virtue.

To run BattleBit Remastered, you need 6 GB of RAM, a GTS 450 level graphics card, and an Intel Core i5-2310 processor. If the hardware was last updated 10 years ago, you can still comfortably play a shooter.

simple but still cute
