Russian coach Igor Cherevchenko has been appointed to the head coaching job of Tajik Istiklol, according to the Tajikistan Football Federation website.
The parties entered into an employment contract until the end of 2023. To help Cherevchenko in the work will be the midfielder from Dushanbe “Pamir” and the national team of Tajikistan Yuri Baturenko.
Before, Igor Cherevchenko Lokomotiv, with whom he won the Russian Cup in 2015. He also worked as a coach at Baltika, Arsenal and Khimki. Yuri Baturenko worked as an assistant coach at such teams as Lokomotiv, Baltika, Gabala, Mordovia, Anji, Rotor and Rostov.
Dushanbe “Istiklol” is an 11-time champion of Tajikistan, a nine-time winner of the country’s Cup and a 10-time winner of the Super Cup.
