Four-time biathlon world champion Emilien Jacquelin announced the early end of the season. The Frenchman announced his decision on his social media account.
At the last World Championships in Oberhof, Germany, 27-year-old Jacquelin won the relay and also won bronze in the mixed relay.
“I inform you with sadness, but also calmly, that I will not continue the season and will not participate in the next three stages of the World Cup. The last few years and months have been very stressful and I haven’t had time to listen to myself. Take a step back to jump higher for a better future,” Jacquelin wrote.
In the general classification of the World Cup, the French biathlete is in tenth place.
