Former Czech hockey team goalkeeper Dominik Hasek published a post on social media criticizing Wimbledon organizers for allowing Russian athletes to participate in the tournament.
Hasek accused Wimbledon organizers, the leadership of the Association of Professional Tennis Players, as well as the Women’s Tennis Association of supporting the Russian position. The former athlete called on the Czech government to ban the entry of Russian athletes, and to deport those who entered to prevent them from participating in the WTA tournament in Prague.
“The government of a country can always ban or expel foreigners! Will the Czech government be able to do this at the WTA tournament in Prague in August? – says the message.
Russian tennis players play in the Wimbledon tournament in a neutral state.
