Four teams maintain medal chances and the same number try to avoid transition matches.
In a week and a half the next draw for the Russian championship will end. In general, it remains to find out the two winners and participants in the play-offs. CSKA, Spartak, Rostov and Akhmat claim the top 3, while Ural, Krylya Sovetov, Fakel and Pari NN fight for the direct retention of a place in the RPL. We will tell you in which scenarios this or that club will solve the general task of finishing the season.
CSKA
The army team is fighting for second place with Spartak. In theory, Rostov and Akhmat also claim silver medals, but the southerners have slim chances. Until the end of the championship, Vladimir Fedotov’s team expects matches with Krasnodar (away) and Rostov (at home). CSKA will take second place if they score more points than Spartak. In case of equality of the main indicator, the advantage will be on the side of the rojiblancos. In this situation, we look at personal meetings, where Spartak scored four points in two games with the army team.
CSKA is guaranteed to take second place if they score six points in the remaining two games. Any other result leaves chances for Spartak. Let’s summarize: CSKA will take the silver if in the last days they get no less points than Spartak. In theory, Rostov or Akhmat can take second place, we will consider this option below.

“Spartacus”
Spartak has an advantage over CSKA in terms of additional indicators. In the first round the teams tied 2-2 and the other day the rojiblancos achieved a 2-1 victory. Thus, Spartak will occupy second place if they add more points than CSKA in the last days. As long as Rostov or Akhmat does not join the fight for silver. By the way, the rojiblancos have a simpler calendar on paper: they will play at home with Pari NN, away with Wings of the Soviets.

“Rostov”
The Donskoy club still claims second place. First of all, Rostov needs to beat both Akhmat at home and CSKA in Moscow. In this case, Karpin’s team will score 56 points. At the same time, the southerners need the army team not to defeat Krasnodar: then CSKA will have no more than 55 points. Third condition: Spartak must not score more than three points in matches with Pari NN and Krylia. In case of equality, Rostov will have the advantage in personal matches (4:2, 1:1). The ideal scenario for the yellow-blues: Rostov scores six points in two days, CSKA draws in Krasnodar and Spartak loses a game of two.
There is another option: Rostov scores four points, Spartak – one, CSKA – 0. Then everyone will have 54 points, but the Don club will gain an advantage in personal meetings. However, this arrangement is hard to believe. If CSKA beats Krasnodar, Rostov will not take second place by any means. As in the case of his own defeat of Akhmat.
From the point of view of the fight for third place, there are many options. “Rostov” in front of:
Spartak, if they score at least three more points than the rojiblancos in recent days; CSKA, if they score at least four points more than the rival in the last days; Akhmat, if he beats the opponent in a full-time match or if Akhmat does not score at least two more points.
In this matter, much more clarity will come after the matches of day 29.

Let’s first look at an unlikely scenario. How can Akhmat take second place? First, you have to win both matches – against Rostov and Krasnodar. Secondly, CSKA should not score a single point. Thirdly, Spartak should not win a single match. Perhaps the people of Grozny do not believe in such an alignment. As for the fight for third place, there are many different options. “Akhmat” is ahead of:
CSKA, if you score six points more than the opponent; Spartak, if you score at least four points more than the opponent; Rostov, if he scores at least two points more than the opponent.
As you can see, it will be very difficult for Akhmat to break into the top 3.

“Ural”
A club from Yekaterinburg is guaranteed to stay in the RPL if it scores at least three points in matches with Khimki and Sochi. In this scenario, Pari NN will not catch up with Ural in any way. “Fakel” will not overtake Goncharenko’s team either, and the head-to-head advantage is on the side of the Urals (0: 0, 2: 0).
“Wings of the Soviets”
The Samara club has an away match with Fakel ahead of them and one at home with Spartak. “Wings” will definitely stay in the RPL if they collect four points. If the Samara club loses in the next round, they will definitely need to beat Spartak.

Vadim Evseev’s team will be ahead of:
“Ural” if he gets four points more than the opponent after two rounds; “Wings of the Soviets” if you get two points more than the opponent; “Pari HN” if the opponent does not get one more point.
In May, Fakel will play at home with Krylya Sovetov, and in June he will travel to St. Petersburg to visit Zenit.

Sergei Yuran’s team is not the easiest task. Nizhny Novgorod ahead:
Ural, if he scores four points more than the opponent in two rounds; Krylya Sovetov, if he scores three points more than the opponent; Fakel, if he scores one point more than the opponent.
Until the end of the championship, Nizhny Novgorod players are waiting for matches with Spartak and Khimki.
