The internet star was defeated in every round.
On the night of August 5-6, Dallas (USA) will host an evening of professional boxing. Famed blogger Jake Paul and former UFC star Nate Diaz will square off in the ring in the main event of the tournament. Paul returns to the ring after the first loss of his career: In late February, Jake faced Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy and lost an eight-round decision.
The fight with Fury for Paul was the first professional test in boxing. Still, he hasn’t fought professional boxers yet: before that, he’s beaten bloggers, basketball players and former UFC stars. Ben Askren, for example, always had problems with punching technique, so it wasn’t hard to beat him in a boxing match. Tyron Woodley was vastly inferior to Paul in size, and Anderson Silva, with all due respect to the former UFC champion, was in his late 50s at the time of the fight.

Therefore, the young and ambitious Tommy Fury, and even with such family roots, became a really serious test for Paul. And the blogger didn’t really cope with it. To be honest, the fight between Fury and Paul as a whole turned out to be boring and as unspectacular as possible. There were so many talks before the fight that the boxers received a billion rubles for two as a fee, but they could not show anything in the ring. Fury attacked more early in the fight, was more precise and efficient, and Paul didn’t seem to understand what was going on. Jake tried to grab on at the first sign of danger.
Paul could not cope with Fury’s boxing technique, and the technique of the blogger himself was, to be honest, a small collective farm. Tommy beat Paul for seven rounds, and even a knockdown in the eighth round did not help Jake, although there was no knockdown – Tommy just stumbled in one of the rounds.
Jake made a decent amount of money in eight rounds. He looks like he didn’t miss that much in his previous six fights. Yes, Paul may not have approached the fight in the best way, but it seems that the point here is not in form, but simply in skills. Fighting against Askren, who only knows how to fight, is one thing, but sharing the ring with a more or less professional boxer is quite another.
It seems that Paul himself understood this, which is why he decided to choose another former UFC star, Nate Diaz, as his rivals. Diaz ended his contract with the UFC, which he did not renew, and now he wanted to earn a big check in boxing, like Ngannou himself. For Nate, this is easy money: it won’t be difficult for Diaz to step into the ring against a blogger. Judging by the form Nate showed at the weigh-in, he didn’t really prepare for the fight, Diaz even had the stomach.
The balance of power in the Díaz – Pablo duel:
The blogger will retire another legend. Nate Diaz has no chance against Jake Paul
Paul intends to take down another former UFC fighter and close out Fury’s loss. Jake was given a tough weight run, even having to fully disrobe at the weigh-in to show off the correct numbers. The blogger’s fitness is far more impressive than Nate’s, but tonight we’ll find out if this is enough to win.
