On the night of March 9-10, a large-scale tournament UFC 299 will take place in Miami (USA). Former bantamweight champion of the organization Peter Yan will perform on the main card of the tournament. He will have a fight against Chinese fighter Song Yadong.

Yan started his MMA career in 2014 and for his first fight the Russian received only 20 thousand rubles. Peter started earning, performing at a higher level, and of course his fees increased too. In 2015 he signed a contract with the ACB league, where he received a fee of 2 thousand dollars for his debut match. He fought seven fights in the organization, became champion and increased his fee 15 times, up to $30 thousand per fight.

After Peter lost his championship belt and was unable to regain it in the rematch, he fought two more fights: against Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili. Both things did not go well for him in the sporting aspect and brought him less income: according to the media, the guaranteed price for each of these fights was about 200 thousand dollars.
Of course, in addition to guaranteed payments for entering the octagon, there are various bonuses from sponsors (for example, from Reebok), from Dana White for the best fight or for the best performance of the night. And, of course, we must not forget about advertising contracts, which also provide important income to the fighters.
“Peter said that the amount he would be willing to end his career with is $5 million. I think he will definitely earn $5 million during his career. This is the minimum and lowest bar. You can earn more,” he said in an interview with Peter’s representative, Sayat Abdrakhmanov.
Peter remains one of the most sought after and highest paid Russian fighters in the UFC. Despite four losses in his last five fights, Yang is ranked No. 4 in the bantamweight rankings and a win over Yadong would once again make him a top contender for the title.
