Dynamo fired Slavisa Jokanovic after a devastating match with Akhmat (0:3); the club said that “another head coach” would coach the team until the end of the season. The acting head coach was 32-year-old Pavel Alpatov, who had already received the first lesson from him in Novogorsk.

Alpatov has been working in the Dynamo system since 2015: he started as an academy administrator, then grew to work with the youth team, and in 2020 joined Sandro Schwartz’s coaching staff.
– Alpatov graduated from the Dynamo Academy, although he began his football career at Lyubertsy Torpedo. At the age of 11, he was invited to the Dynamo school, where he stayed: he was the captain of his age, went through several stages and grew up to the youth team, but could not rise further: he only spent seven games. He himself said in an interview with Metaratings that he lacked some kind of strong quality that would give him superiority over his competitors. After Alpatov played at the KFK level, in the regional championship, and at the age of 21 he left football.
– At the academy, he crossed paths with Anton Shunin, Zaurbek Pliev, Fedor Smolov and Alexander Kokorin. Two are on a team.
– Then his fate was interesting: he went to work as a salesman at adidas, where he met his wife. At some point, she was transferred to Krasnoyarsk, and Alpatov went after her. By that time, he had already reached the post of director, but according to the company rules, the spouses were forbidden to work submissively to each other, and Alpatov left his job. “At that time, I called Alexander Yuryevich Kuznetsov, the director of the Dynamo Academy, and told him that I wanted to return to football in any state,” he said in an interview. “I was very surprised that he even remembered who I was. But then he could not offer me anything: not even a vacancy for an administrator. I returned to Moscow and worked in another store for a couple of months. Then Alexander Yuryevich was glad that the position of manager of children’s teams opened at the academy. In 2015, after the New Year holidays, he hired me to work at the academy, I was 25 years old.

So Alpatov returned to Dynamo. At first, it was not easy: for half a year he was involved in the training process, although he had nothing to do with it; instead of preparing for training, Pavel “hanged out in other teams’ classes.” Although most of the time he washed the changing rooms and brought water to the children, in general he helped organize the work process of the academy. At the same time, Alpatov lost money by moving to Dynamo: according to him, as the director of the adidas store, he earned much more.
“I always had before my eyes the example of a father who worked all his life just to support his family, me and my brother,” Pavel said. – I had a chance to do what brought not only money, but also pleasure. And there is nothing shameful in carrying water to the children for eight months, no, if he pleased me.
– In the same year he received a coaching license. Coincidentally, many coaches moved up, so the assistant coach position for the 2004 and 2006 teams became vacant, and he was appointed to fill it. Since then, a new chapter in Alpatov’s career has begun.
“It’s a special feeling that you can teach a child something,” he shared. “I gave everything to this job. Emotionally difficult, but I really enjoyed the new activity, although the responsibility is enormous. Children, parents, relatives – everyone hopes that the coach will improve their child.

– After promotion to Dynamo -2, and then almost immediately in 2020, Alpatov entered the coaching staff of the base: he was invited by Sandro Schwartz, and this invitation was a big surprise for the young specialist. “The first few days were exciting and not so comfortable, because it’s a completely different level,” he told Dynamo’s official website. – I thought about how the players would perceive me, how I would convey information to them, how to behave on the field. But it disappeared in just two days.”
Schwartz and Alpatov had only a conversation, in which Pavel explained that he had never worked at such a level, to which Sandro replied that it was not so important, the main thing was that in the work complex he saw him as an equal. minded person “During training in the first days, Sandro constantly urged me: “Pasha, come on, tell the guys to be more active,” Alpatov recalled.

– For Alpatov, the ideal football is the attack. “But at the same time, he is balanced in terms of ball control and quick vertical attacks,” he emphasized in an interview with the Dynamo website. – When players feel the rhythm, follow each other’s movement and opponent’s position. Defensively, it’s pressing and counter-pressing, where when you lose the ball, your first thought should be to get the ball back as quickly as possible.”
– Alpatov said that one day he would like to try himself as the head coach of Dynamo.
