More than a dozen hopefuls for victory among the referees of the RPL.

The RPL season is over – it’s time to determine the heroes and anti-heroes of the Russian championship. Included among the most criticized of its participants. We are talking about judges who have served the last year, to put it mildly, not five or more.

Let’s rank the best referees in the league together. To participate in the survey, 11 referees were selected, who have completed more than a third of the RPL rounds. That more than 10 games are spent. The list includes all the strongest judges of the Russian championship, so we definitely will not miss any of the main contenders for the victory. By the way, all the errors that are mentioned in the “profiles” of the candidates were identified thanks to the experience of the referee of the “Championship” Igor Fedotov.

During the voting, the RPL judges will be distributed in places. The rating depends entirely on the votes of the readers of the “Championship” and is formed online.

If you want to move an option up in the list, press the up arrow “↑”, if you think the option should be lower, press the down arrow “↓”.

Qualification: the best judges of the RPL. Who was the strongest this season?

Vladislav Bezborodov

Number of games in the RPL season: 22

The 50-year-old Bezborodov is the oldest referee in the RPL, yet last season the St. Petersburg resident judged the most matches (22) as chief referee. He is the leader in bookings (120) and expulsions for two yellow cards (7). He didn’t show a single direct red! Also, Vladislav awarded the most penalties (12). Although Akhmat goalkeeper Shelia’s miss for a foul on Spartak striker Sobolev is one of Bezborodov’s rare mistakes in the Russian championship. Of the top matches, Bezborodov got the matchday 24 Spartak – Krasnodar, which went well, despite the bulls’ claims.

Pavel Kukuyan

Number of games in the RPL season: 19

Kukuyan led teams to 19 RPL matches, issued 71 warnings and carried players off the field four times. 11 meters designated 8 times. One of our best referees managed such difficult games as Zenit – CSKA, Lokomotiv – Zenit and both Spartak’s games with Zenit. In these matches, Pavel withstood the pressure, and if he made a mistake, he corrected it thanks to VAR. But at other meetings, there was a judicial marriage. This is Krylya Sovetov’s disallowed goal against Rostov on Matchday 10, a penalty awarded in the Loko derby with Dynamo, and two missed free kicks on 11-meter goals against Fakel in different matches. It looks like a wrong penalty in the match between CSKA and Rostov on matchday 30.

Sergey Karasev

Number of games in the RPL season: 18

Karasev showed 72 yellow cards, 6 red cards and called 7 penalties in 18 games. The Moscow referee has officiated both derbies between CSKA and Spartak this season. In the second of them, he removed Willian Rocha and Sobolev for obscene gestures. The red card shown to the Brazilian was wrong. In the first derby, Sergei “forgot” to knock out Ermakov’s army team – the young midfielder jumped with a straight leg towards an opponent. He instructed Karasev and other big parties, which worked better. For example, a match between CSKA and Zenit on matchday 20. That day there were no 11 meters, red cards and indignation from the losers (Russian champions).

vladimir moskalev

Number of games in the RPL season: 12

Moskalev was entrusted with 12 matches in the last RPL season. He took a yellow card out of his pocket 45 times and only once a red one. He has 6 penalties. Vladimir refereed Zenit’s games with Rostov at home and with Krasnodar away from home, the Lokomotiv-Spartak derby. Moskalev did not assign an 11-meter penalty to Zenit’s goal, and in other matches he was wrong in favor of Krylya Sovetov (did not send off midfielder Yezhov in Khimki) and Akhmat (did not send off a player from the Grozny team for depriving the player of Dynamo of a clear opportunity to score Goal). In the meeting between Ural and Krasnodar, the referee did not score a penalty in the goal of the southerners and did not give them an 11-meter penalty.

Alexey Amelin

Number of games in the RPL season: 12

Amelin served 12 matches of the Russian championship on the field, and in his statistics there are 49 yellow cards and 4 red cards. He 3 times he recorded offenses in the penalty area on penalties. Alexei did not work in big matches, although in the last round he was entrusted with a match between Wings of the Soviets and Spartak, in which some fought for survival, while others fought for medals. In Samara, several decisions by the referees raised doubts. Before that, Amelin made three mistakes during the season: he did not send off the Orenburg player in the match with Krasnodar, incorrectly counted Akhmat’s goal in Nizhny Novgorod and undeservedly punished Torpedo with an 11-meter penalty in Rostov-on-Don. .

Vitali Meshkov

Number of games in the RPL season: 14

Meshkov received 14 appointments as the main referee in the championship final, showed 60 yellow cards, 5 red cards and awarded 8 penalties. The games “Rostov” – CSKA and “Zenith” – “Dynamo” were entrusted to him. In these matches he did not disappoint, but he made mistakes in a few others. So, in the fourth round, Vitaly in vain canceled a goal against Dynamo in Samara, and in the eighth round he did not designate a penalty against the same Dynamo in the blue and white Moscow match with Ural. At the end of the first round, the Soviets’ own wings benefited from Meshkov’s decision: he undeservedly punished the 11-meter Pari NN. In the 18th round, the referee did not count Spartak’s net goal against Ural.

Pavel Shadikhanov

Number of games in the RPL season: 13

Shadykhanov in the last season of the RPL issued 59 warnings in 13 matches and took players off the field 4 times. He pointed to the “dot” 7 times. The matches, to which the attention of all Russian football was fixed, were not given to him. Although the “Torpedo” – “Spartak” derby on matchday 23 turned out to be very hot: three penalties, three eliminations. Pep Clotet insulted the judge, he didn’t behave very well. But everything is fine there. Shadykhanov’s mistakes can be called the non-elimination of the midfielder from Akhmat Shvets in the 9th round in a meeting with Pari NN and the same decision in the 10th round against Willian Roshi. The Brazilian played in red in the derby with Torpedo.

Evgeny Kukuliak

Number of games in the RPL season: 12

Due to Kukulyak 12 matches in the full championship of Russia as the main referee. He showed 60 yellow cards and 2 red cards, he scored 7 penalties. And three of them are in the game between Lokomotiv and Krylya Sovetov. This referee was not assigned to meetings at the highest level of the RPL. I remember several Kukulyak mistakes. The Spartak player Denisov was sent off in the match with Khimki, a penalty against Fakel in Nizhny Novgorod and there were already two decisions in favor of the Voronezh club. One – in the game with “Orenburg” in the 15th round (he did not give a red card to the “Torch” player) and one – with “Rostov” in the 26th (there Evgeny also did not expel the Voronezh player) .

sergei ivanov

Number of games in the RPL season: 14

Ivanov received appointments for 14 matches. In them, the referee issued 67 warnings and took the players off the field on 7 occasions. He also has 7 penalties in his stats. Sergey served in the meetings of CSKA-Krasnodar (he punished the 11-meter “bulls” three times in the capital!) And Spartak-Dynamo. In the derby, Ivanov mistakenly took a penalty and decided that there was a foul on Zobnin. He also had other failures last season. He did not send off the Akhmat player in the match with Zenit in Grozny, he incorrectly counted Orenburg’s goal against Khimki and exceeded the severity of the punishment, showing a red card to the Lokomotiv player in the match with Ural.

Kirill Levnikov

Number of games in the RPL season: 18

Levnikov’s statistics in the complete championship of Russia: 76 warnings, 8 disposals and 7 throws from 11 meters. This referee received appointments for matches of greater complexity, for example, Krasnodar – Spartak at the beginning of the season and Spartak – Rostov at the end. In the first game he made two key errors in favor of the rojiblancos: he counted Zobnin’s goal, despite playing with Pereira’s hand, and he punished Chernikov excessively, showing a red card instead of a yellow one. Also, in Spartak’s matches with Krasnodar and Rostov, Kirill should have issued a second warning to Sobolev, but he did not. Levnikov also had mistakes in other episodes, which Igor Fedotov analyzed in his review.

Artem Lyubimov

Number of matches in the RPL season: 15.

Referee Lyubimov issued 73 warnings last season, sent five players off the field, and signaled the “point” 6 times. All this in 15 games. He was not put in the best battles, you can only remember the Lokomotiv-CSKA derby in the 15th round. In that meeting, Artyom did not show Zainutdinov the second yellow card, which the defender of the Army deserved. Of the other mistakes of Lyubimov, one can single out the lack of removal of the Spartak midfielder Zobnin in the match with Fakel, and in the match of CSKA with Wings of the Soviets, the referee did not award a penalty in favor of the team of the army. He also showed in vain the red legionnaire from Sochi Sissako in the game with Orenburg.
