Evgeny Kuznetsov explained why he refused to move to Traktor
SKA forward Evgeny Kuznetsov explained why he refused to move to his native Traktor after the NHL.
“This is a difficult topic. I actually thought about it. Many people call and ask. I can only wish the fans patience, I hope everything goes well for them, there is a strong team in Chelyabinsk. But for now, unfortunately for them, this is what happened. For me personally, it will be better.
If we dig a little deeper, I personally could not live in Chelyabinsk. This is very difficult for me, everyone knows that. No personal space. Chelyabinsk is my home, but I hope that the time will come. If the city forgives me and the people forgive me, then, God willing, I will return. I am not yet ready to make any comments about why and how, and it would be a mistake, but the proposal was worthwhile. We talked with the governor and with the general director Ivan Savin. They were ready to create all the conditions for me. There were no questions. This is my personal decision to come to SKA. This is probably the end for now.
“I don’t like to deceive, but I have to speak superficially. I have a real reason why and how, but I’m not ready to go too deep yet. This is much deeper,” Match TV quoted Kuznetsov as saying.
Roman Rotenberg assessed the likelihood of inviting Valery Nichushkin to SKA
SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg has discussed inviting Colorado Avalanche forward Valery Nichushkin to the military club.
“I spoke to Nichushkin. We get along very well with him, we spoke to him in the spring. Will he end up at SKA? Wait and see. Everything is possible.”
But today, as I understand from Nichushkin’s own words, he remains in the NHL. Colorado is counting on him, despite all his problems. And he himself wants to play there. This is the strongest player in the playoffs, the winner of the Stanley Cup. We all understand who Nichushkin is. I am sure that any NHL club will accept Valery. This is a strong hockey player when he plays in the spot. But that’s where the goals come from, this is a key component,” Match TV quotes Rotenberg as saying.
