Croatian defender Joshko Guardiola has joined Manchester City, which is coached by Spain’s Josep Guardiola, according to the official Citizens website.
Guardiol was the second signing for the English champions in the summer transfer window, having previously signed Guardiol’s compatriot Mateo Kovacic.
Like Kovacic, Guardiol began his career at Dinamo Zagreb, became a two-time Croatian champion, winning the Croatian Cup and Super Cup and then moving to Germany’s RB Leipzig.
Earlier it was reported that the “citizens” will pay “Leipzig” for the transfer of Guardiol 90 million euros and 10 million euros as bonuses. This amount will make him the most expensive defender in the history of football.
