On the night of March 4-5, Moscow time, the draw for the tennis super tournament took place in Indian Wells (USA). For men, this will be the first Masters of the season, and for women, respectively, the third “thousandth”, after Doha and Dubai. In 2023, the men’s singles final went to Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz. The Spanish tennis player was stronger then by 6:3, 6:2. This time they finished in different halves of the bracket, so in theory it is possible to repeat the final.

To avoid misunderstandings, we remind you immediately: 96 participants each entered the main draw in both singles. This means that all seeded tennis players (from 1st to 32nd) received a bye in the first round, that is, a bye. And to win the tournament they need to win six games, not seven.
Medvedev took fourth place, only Novak Djokovic (1), Alcaraz (2) and Jannik Sinner (3) were higher. The Russian tennis player reached the top half of the tournament. Thus, Daniil finished in the same half as Djokovic. If Medvedev wins the tournament, his opponents could be the following: second round, the Italian Flavio Cobolli or the Spanish Roberto Carballes-Baena, third round, Sebastian Korda (29) or, say, Roman Safiullin, fourth round, Grigor Dimitrov (12 )/ Adrian Mannarino (21), quarterfinals – Holger Rune (7), semifinal – Novak Djokovic (1), final – Carlos Alcaraz (2).
Andrey Rublev, fifth seed, has this tournament path ahead of him. In the second round, Rublev will play with the three-time TBS champion Andy Murray or with a qualifier, in the third, if he wins, with Jiri Legechka (32), in the fourth with Stefanos Tsitsipas (11), in the quarterfinals. with Jannik Sinner (3), in the semifinals – with Carlos Alcaraz (2).

As for the seeded leaders, this is what awaits their opponents. Djokovic will play in the second round with the winner of the qualifying pair, Aleksandar Vukic, in the third round his opponent could be Thomas Martin Etcheverry (30), in the fourth round, Hugo Humbert (14), in the quarterfinals, Hubert Hurkacz ( 8) / Casper Ruud (9), in the semi-finals – Daniil Medvedev (1), in the final – Carlos Alcaraz (2). The Spaniard, in turn, will fight against Lucas Van Assche or Matteo Arnaldi in the second round, in the third he will be able to play with Felix Auger-Aliassime (31), in the fourth, with Karen Khachanov (15), in the 1/ 4 finals – with Alexander Zverev (6), in the 1/2 final – with Jannik Sinner (3) / Andrei Rublev (5), in the final – with Novak Djokovic (1) / Daniil Medvedev (4).
In addition, 22-time TBS champion Rafael Nadal will face Milos Raonic in the first round (both tennis players play with protected classification) and Holger Rune (7) awaits them in the second round.
In women’s singles, the title is defended by Elena Rybakina. A year ago she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final by 7: 6 (13:11), 6: 4. There are no Russians among the top 8, and the possible quarterfinal pairings are as follows:
Therefore, in theory, it is possible to repeat the final in the women’s category, since Rybakina and Sabalenka finished in different halves. And the most likely semifinals, if we take into account the number of seeds, will be the following: Swiatek – Rybakina, Gauff – Sabalenka.
