The match of the fourth round of Wimbledon with the participation of the Russian Andrei Rublev and the native of Gatchina Alexander Bublik, a militant in Kazakhstan, has become one of the brightest of the current tournament. Rublev won the first two sets, lost the next two games, but proved his superiority in the deciding set-7:5, 6:3, 6:7 (6:8), 6:7 (5:7), 6:4 for 3 hours 19 minutes.

Despite the bitterness of the defeat, Bublik warmly greeted Rublev after the match. The athletes have known each other since childhood and treat each other well.

“Probably the drop shot before double match point was the most successful of the entire game. I don’t know, it was luck, nothing more. I don’t think he can do it again,” Rublev said in an on-court interview.
Andrey also commented on the fact that he managed to interrupt Bublik’s comeback, who rallied from 0-2 in sets. “I don’t know how Sasha’s comeback stopped. I thought it didn’t matter. I lost the third set, the fourth set, and in each one I had chances, break points, but either he played well or I was tight. So I told myself that if he kept playing, he would at least have a chance. In the end he appeared, I took it well, he made a great draw and made a break, ”he added.
In the Wimbledon quarterfinals, Rublev will play the winner of the match Hubert Hurkach (Poland, 17) – Novak Djokovic (Serbia, 2). The Russian’s opponent will be determined today, July 9. Andrey for the first time reached the top eight at Wimbledon. And he became the tenth acting tennis player who could reach the 1/4 final of all the Slams.
