Team Spirit’s press service released a statement saying that they will be moving the world-champion Dota 2 team to Serbia for some time. The organization was very clear that despite leaving Russia and Ukraine, they are not going to “get rid of associations with Russia, Ukraine, or the CIS.”
Team Spirit, the official sponsor of the Russian Dota 2 team, has announced that it will move the team from Ukraine to Serbia for a period of time. The team has not indicated if any Russian players will need to change their citizenship.
“The train is being transported to Serbia, but there are some important reservations on the date. We are not getting rid of our ties to Russia, Ukraine, or the CIS. There is no talk about Serbian citizenship at the moment. The train will now be going through a training camp in Europe for better ping and logistics: it’s easier and faster to get visas from Serbia than from Russia and Ukraine at this time,” said the press service before finishing with a laugh.
A source has revealed that CSKA’s management is working on moving the team from Moscow to Serbia. Players who are eligible to make this move will be able to obtain Serbian citizenship.
