We present a summary of the main events in the world of hockey for April 12, 2024.

SKA appealed to KHL clubs with a proposal to support refereeing reform

As the “Championship” learned, the SKA hockey club sent letters to all KHL clubs with a project to reform the refereeing organization.

“The current championship has demonstrated enormous problems in the modern management model of the refereeing department: refereeing errors, the lack of clear explanations for controversial episodes, the placement of referees above clubs and players has led to a series of scandals this season and, most importantly, an unsportsmanlike result of the matches,” the letter says.

The project repeats the clubs’ proposal, which the Championship had already written about. Its main idea is that the independent arbitration committee will be subordinate not to the league management, but to the All-Russian council of judges. He will regulate the activities of the chief referee of the league and report to the board of directors of the KHL, that is, to the clubs of the league.

HC SKA plans to submit the proposal for discussion by the board of directors and begin the creation of working groups and meetings on this topic.

Of course, in any situation we will look for a solution. Every problem has a solution. But this is unacceptable and unprofessional.
