Alexander is an excellent example of behavior both on and off the ice.
After five defeats, there was a personnel change at the SKA. No, not training. From now on, the military club will have a new captain: forward Alexander Kadeikin, who returned to St. Petersburg after a seven-year off-season, will lead the team in this role for the first time.
CSKA coach Roman Rotenberg announced Kadeikin’s appointment to this position on his Telegram channel: “Alexander Kadeikin will wear the team captain’s patch in the next match. In a difficult time for the team, Sasha’s experience and confidence will be of great use to us.
He was with us during the victorious 2014/2015 season, when the team defeated CSKA in the conference final, winning 0:3 in the series, and was the captain of the team in the Channel One Cup. Kadeikin will be able to pass on to young players and newcomers to the team the confidence they need now, will set the right tone and have the necessary experience and understanding,” Rotenberg’s statement read.

Piqué SKA is not a series of reasons, but a test for Rotenberg. Will he prove everything to everyone or will he fail?
Thus, Kadeikin will replace Marat Khairullin, who received the title of captain only before the start of this season, and now, together with Artyom Sergeev, will act as alternate captain of the St. Petersburg team.
Alexander’s path to the captaincy in SKA turned out to be thorny: once, almost 10 years ago, another 20-year-old Kadeikin shone in his first full season with Atlanta, after which he received an invitation to St. Petersburg, filled with stars. It was extremely difficult to shine there, and the striker, who was largely a rotation player in the Northern capital, left for Lokomotiv. But he didn’t stay there for long either, two seasons later he moved to Ufa.
“Salavat Yulaev” became the club where Alexander made a name for himself. Although everything started there on the fourth line, in the capital of Bashkortostan things became difficult for the great forward. Thanks to his hard work and complete dedication on the court, Kadeikin quickly became “one of us” in Ufa and already in his second season with the team he completely transformed into one of its main leaders, although at the same time he remained in the shadow of the powerful Finnish trio.

Maybe it was even better for Alejandro. He is far from a media personality; Even if you wanted to, you won’t be able to find it on any social media. However, he is a friendly and open person who will never refuse communication. In addition, Kadeikin himself establishes contact quite easily.
My first “live” interview was with Alexander. When something happens for the first time, it is quite natural that there are certain feelings about both the process and the result. But largely thanks to my interlocutor, everything went like clockwork. Kadeikin arrived at the interview in an excellent mood, despite the defeat and an almost sleepless night due to the flight immediately after the match, with a smile, modestly introduced himself, Sasha, and, without waiting for the “official” start of the match . the conversation, he started a conversation with me dialogue.

“I have a great desire to show myself in the NHL. But it must be reinforced with more than just empty words.”
When communicating with Sasha, you immediately realize that he is a reasonable and sober person. Combined with his leadership and playmaking skills on the ice, this is a great package for a new captain. Moreover, he is no stranger to this role: Kadeikin wore that badge both in Salavat and in the Russian national team at the Channel One Cup.
At a time when St. Petersburg needs a new hero, SKA chooses Kadeikin as its new spiritual leader. And he has every chance to become the one who helps the army team get through this period.
